Chilli chicken is a very famous side dish which goes well with fried rice,chapathi,roti etc… It is a very easy to make sweet and sour dish with onion,capsicum,tomato sauce and soy sauce. There are two types of chilli chicken recipes dry and gravy type, this recipe is the dry one. I used boneless chicken to make this recipe but you can also use bone pieces also. How to make chilli Chicken dry


500g of boneless chicken
2 spn. of cornflour
1 spn. of ginger garlic paste
1 spn. of chilli powder
1/2 spn. of turmeric powder
1/6 spn. of pepper powder
1 spn. of tomato sauce
1/2 spn. of soy sauce
salt as required
1 spn. chopped ginger
1 spn. of chopped garlic
2 no of onion
2 no of capsicum
1/4spn. of pepper powder
1 spn. of tomato sauce
1/2 spn. of soy sauce
salt as required


Step 01

Clean and cut chicken in to small pieces.

Step 02

Marinate chicken with cornflour,ginger garlic paste,chilli powder,turmeric powder,pepper powder,tomato sauce and soy sauce and salt. Keep aside for 1 hour.

Step 03

Shallow fry the chicken pieces till golden brown color. keep aside.

Step 04

Heat butter/oil in a non stick pan.

Step 05

Add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for a while.

Step 06

Add cube shaped onion and fry for one minute.

Step 07

Add chopped capsicum and mix well. Add pepper powder and salt. Fry for a while.

Step 08

Add fried chicken pieces and mix well. Add tomato sauce and soy sauce. Mix well.

Step 09

Cover the pan and cook for one minute. Serve hot with rice,chapathi,roti etc…
