Mutton Potato Masala


Spicy juicy mutton with potato. Serve hot with fried rice,roti whatever you want


Tasty and delicious mutton masala with potatoes. It is always better to cook mutton in very low flame to retain its tenderness and moisture. This is a easy side dish prepare in malabar side of Kerala. It goes well with Ghee Rice,chappathi,pathiri,Palappam etc… I have already tried Pressure cooker mutton biriyani, Mutton Liver Masala and Mutton Roast and kerala style mutton curry. How to make mutton potato masala

Ingredients


500g of mutton
250g of potato cubes
1 no of finely sliced onion
2 tbsp. of ginger garlic paste
3 no of finely chopped tomato
1 tbsp. of pepper powder
1 spn. of cumin powder
1/2 spn. of cardamom powder
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/6 spn. of chilli powder
Salt as required
Oil for deep fry

Method


Step 01


Heat oil in a pan.

Step 02


Add cinnamon sticks and bay leaves. Saute for a while.

Step 03


Add ginger garlic paste. Saute till raw smell goes off.

Step 04


Add finely chopped onion and fry till golden brown color.

Step 05


Add tomatoes and fry till tomatoes become mushy.

Step 06


Add turmeric powder,chilli powder,cumin powder and pepper powder. Stir well for 1 minute.

Step 07


Add Mutton pieces.Add salt and 1/2 glass of water. Mix well.

Step 08


Cover the lid and cook well(If you care using pressure cooker,cook in low flame till 1-2 whistle)

Step 09


Add potatoes,garam masala and cardamom powder again cook till one whistle in medium flame.

Step 10


Serve hot with rice,roti etc…
