How to make Garam masala
Garam Masala is a blend of several spices. Garam means hot and masala is mix of spices. This is a very aromatic spice mix which should be sparingly used.
Homemade powders are always flavorful and good as they are minus the preservatives and it gives a contentment of making it all by yourself at home.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of Fennel Seeds
- 10 no of Cardamom
- 3 pieces of Cinnamon
- 1 spn. of Pepper
- 1 spn. of Cloves
- 2 no of Star anise
- 3 nos of Turmeric
- 1 nos of Nutmeg
- 3 no of Bay leaves
Method
Step 01
Dry roast all the items separately on low flame except asafoetida.
Step 02
Cool down completely then grind it to a fine powder, cool down and store in an airtight container.
Step 03
Store in an airtight jar.
Note:
- You can also add cumin seeds.
