Aloo Paratha | How to make aloo paratha


Healthy and delicious paratha made with potato


Aloo paratha is a famous North Indian main course made with the potato onion mix. This recipe is a very popular breakfast item in North India. The best combination to have this aloo paratha is with curd and pickle. My kids love this type of stuffed breads. I would like to make stuffed parathas like Cabbage paratha,Soya keema paratha. This kind of stuffed parathas are very healthy and no need of any side dishes and this is an easy way to make our kids eat a complete meal.

How to make Aloo paratha

Ingredients

1/2 kg of wheat flour
3 no of potatoes
2 no of onion
1 spn. of ginger garlic paste
3-4 no of green chillies
1/4 spn. of chilli powder
1/6 spn. of pepper powder
1/6 spn. of turmeric powder
1/6 spn. of garam masala / chicken masala
A handful of chopped coriander leaves
salt as required
1 spn. of oil

Aloo Paratha Preparation Method


Step 01

Take wheat flour in a bowl.Add salt and mix well.Add 1 tbsp of oil and water. Knead to smooth dough.Put a wet cloht over the dough and keep aside for 15 minutes.

Step 02


Pressure cook potatoes. Allow to cool. Peel off and mash. Keep it aside.

Step 03


Heat oil in a pan.

Step 04


Add ginger-garlic paste. Saute till the raw smell goes off.

Step 05


Add chopped onion fry till golden color.

Step 06


Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and garam masala (or chicken masala)

Step 07


Saute for a while and add mashed potatoes.

Step 08


Add Chopped coriander leaves and salt. Mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes in low flame without adding water.

Step 09


Make small balls from the dough and make chapathi.

Step 10


Place the filling in the center and gather the dough from all sides. Seal it well.

Step 11


Turn to the other side and start rolling to a thicker paratha.

Step 12


Heat tawa and carefully place the paratha. Cook both sides till golden brown color. Drizzle oil in both sides while cooing.

Step 13


Serve hot with curd

Note:

  • Adjust spiciness as per your taste.
  • You can also add grated carrot, cabbage etc… while making the masala
