A perfect healthy breakfast idea with oats and apple. Oats porridge is so simple and easy to make dish. We can make lot many porridge varieties like spicy,sweet and sour with oats. We can also mix it up with other cereals like ragi. Here I made this porridge with grated apple,honey and raisins. Oats porridge is also a diabetic friendly recipe. I have already tried some diabetic friendly oats recipes like Instant Oats Idli,Oats Upma,Oats kozhukkattai,Oats uthappam,Spicy oats porridge,Oats Unniyappam,Ragi oats porridge,Oats Kheer and oats dal fritters. Apple Oats Porridge Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Oats
- 1 cup of Grated apple
- 1 tbsp. of sugar
- 1 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tbsp. of honey
- 10 no of raisins
- 10 no of nuts
- 1 pinch of salt
Method
Step 01
Soak raisins in honey for 10 minutes. Grate apple and keep aside.
Step 02
Take oats in a thick bottom vessel. Add 1/2 cup water and cook till soft.
Step 03
Add milk and sugar(you can use jaggery also).Stir well.
Step 04
Add grated apple,a pinch of salt(optional) and stir well to make sure there are no lumps.
Step 05
Keep it on low flame for one minute.
Step 06
Garnish with nuts,raisins and honey.
