Sweet and tangy side dish using Apple

Apple pachadi is an easy to make, simple and healthy side dish. This is tasty curry made with apple, coconut and curd. Pachadi is a famous traditional side dish of Kerala. Coconut and curd are the major ingredients of pachadi. Usually we make pachadi with Beetroot, Pavakka/ Bittergourd, Cucumber but a pachadi with apple was new to me. I found this pachadi recipe in a Kerala Onam sadya special magazine. It will take only 5-7 minute to prepare this dish. How to make Apple pachadi?


1 no of Apple 3 tbsp. of Grated coconut 3 TS of curd 1/2 spn. of Cumin 2 no of Green chilli 1/2 spn. of Mustard 2 no of Red chillies 2 springs of Curry leaves 1/2 spn. of Oil Salt as required


Step 01

Grind coconut along with green chilli,cumin and salt.

Step 02

Cut apple into small pieces.

Step 03

Mix apple pieces with coconut paste and curd.Keep aside for 5 minute.

Step 04

Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.Add curry leaves and red chillies. Fry well.

Step 05

Add this to curry and mix well.
