Aval Payasam / Beaten Rice Kheer
A delicious and healthy kheer with beaten rice
Beaten rice are Packed with iron also a complete meal.We used to make several dishes with beaten rice like upma,snacks etc…beaten rice kheer is such a yummy dessert with jaggery and milk.You can also use coconut milk instead of cow milk.That will increase the taste of your kheer.
How to make aval payasam?
Ingredients
200g of Aval
1 ltr of Milk
100g of jaggery
1/2 spn. of Cardamom powder
1/2 spn. of ghee
1 tbsp. of Grated coconut
kismis&nuts to garnish
Method
Step 01
Heat ghee in a pan.
Step 02
Roast cashew nuts and kismis and keep aside.
Step 03
Golden fry grated coconut in same ghee.
Step 04
Soak beatn rice in water for 5 min.Drain off
Step 05
Boil milk in a pan.
Step 06
Add powdered jaggery and cardamom powder.
Step 07
Add aval and cook for 10 min.
Step 08
Garnish with roasted coconut,raisins and nuts.
