Butter Murukku | How to make Butter Murukku
Easy and tasty butter murukku with rice flour,besan and roasted gram powder
I started making murukku for my son as he always wants something to eat 🙂 especially on weekends. Usually I make wheat flour diamond cuts for them as snack. For this diwali I have seen so many murukku varieties in many South Indian cooking sites. In that I noticed butter murkku is very easy to make and healthy too. No soaking and grinding of grains required. Tried and they both liked it. I already posted Whole wheat crispy puri which is also a healthy snack for your kids.

How to make Butter Murukku
1 cup of rice flour
1/4 cup of besan
1/4 cup of roasted gram powder
2 tbsp. of butter
1 spn. of cumin seeds
1 spn. of sesame seeds
Salt as required
Oil for fry
Take a large bowl and add all the ingredients. Add water little by little Knead well to bit tight dough.
Heat oil in a kadai.
Squeeze the murukku using the star shaped plate in the press.
Cook it until the murukku floats in oil.
Drain in paper towel and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

1. Powder pottu kadala(roasted gram) in a mixer.
2.Take a large bowl and add all the ingredients ( rice flour,besan(kadalamavu,pottukadala powder,butter,cumin,sesame seeds(ellu) and salt).
3.Add water little by little Knead well to bit tight dough.
4.Squeeze the murukku using the star shaped plate in the press.
5.Cook it until the murukku floats in oil.
