Spicy and healthy poriyal made with cauliflower
Cauliflower fry is a very healthy and tasty stir fry. We can make a lot many varieties of dishes with cauliflower. It is one of the most widely used vegetables in India especially Northside. Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K, and vitamin B6. Cauliflower does not have any unique taste but we can both spicy and sweet dishes in different cusines like Chinese, Arabian, Indian etc. I have already posted some delciious caulflower recipes like Gobi Fry | Crispy Cauliflower fry recipe , Gobi 65 | Cauliflower 65 , and Cauliflower Fried Rice .
Here I made a simple and easy to make South Indian style cauliflower stir fry. It is very easy to make and requires only few ingredients. The perfect combination of cauliflower fry is with rice and rasam. You can check for my 24+ varieties of stir fry/ poriyal recipes here. Hope you all will like these recipes. How to make cauliflower poriyal
1 medium-sized cauliflower
1 cup of grated coconut
5 no of Green chillies
5 no of Shallots
1/2 spn. of mustard seeds
2 springs of curry leaves
4 no of red chillies
Salt to taste
1 tbsp. of Oil
Mix salt and turmeric powder in 1 bowl and dip the cauliflower florets in it for 15 min.
Take out from the salt water and wash well. Finely chop the cauliflower. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Add finely chopped green chillies and Shallots. Fry for one minute.
Add the finely chopped cauliflower and mix well for 2 minutes.
Add 1/4 glass of water and salt,close the lid of pan and cook for 10 minutes.
Once the cauliflower is cooked, add grated coconut and fry well in medium flame for 1 minute.
Switch off the flame and serve hot.
