Chakka puzhukku is a traditional side dish of Kerala. We also make sadya for Vishu with Payasam. Both raw and ripen jackfruit is used for making recipes. I made this chakka puzhukku in a traditional way by adding grated coconut, cumin seeds, green chillies and garlic.  Hope you all will like this easy chakka puzhukku recipe.     • 4 cup of Chopped Unripe jackfruit
    • 2 cup of grated coconut
    • 3 no of Garlic
    • 4 no of Green chillies.
    • 1/4 spn. of Cumin seeds
    • 1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
    • 1/2 spn. of chilli powder
    • 2 springs of curry leaves
    • 2 tbsp. of Coconut oil
      • Salt to taste


Step 01

Cook chopped jackfruit with 1 cup of water,turmeric powder,chilli powder and salt.

Step 02

Crush grated coconut with green chillies, garlic and cumin seeds.

Step 03

If there is excess water in jackfruit, open the lid and cook in high flame.

Step 04

Add coconut paste to this and mix well.

Step 05

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 06

Splutter mustard seeds.Add curry leaves and saute for a while.

Step 07

Add this seasoning to jackfruit mix.Cover the pan and serve after 5 minutes.
