Pazham Pori | Crispy Banana Fritters

Traditional Kerala snack with plantain.

Pazham pori is a very famous sweet snack of South Indians, especially in Malayalees. It is my all-time favorite snack. Kerala Style Nadan Parippu vada | Thattukada style parippu vada , Sugiyan Recipe , Pakkavada are some of the delicious Kerala special thattukada (tea shop) snacks. Pazham pori is made with nenthrapazham (Kerala banana).

Usually, we used to make pazham pori with maida. But here I didn’t use maida in this recipe. I have used whole wheat flour for making this pazham pori and there is no much taste difference. I have added little rice flour to get more crispiness to the pazham pori. The batter is made with wheat flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar. You can also add egg to the batter if you want a soft pazham pori.
