Curd Vada(Thayir Vada)
Traditional south indian snack.
Ingredients
1/4 kg of Mung Dal
1 spn. of Pepper
3 no of Green chilli
6 no of Small onion(Shallots)
1/2 ltr Curd
2 tbsp. of Sugar
A handful of Mint leaves
4 no of Green chilli
1 tbsp. of Chopped Ginger
1 tbsp. of Red chilli paste
Salt as required
Oil for fry
Method
Step 01
Soak mung dal in water for 3 hour.Grind well without adding water.
Step 02
Add pepper,chopped green chilli,chopped small onion and salt.Mix well.
Step 03
Wet your hands and make small lemon sized balls.(or you can make vada using unniyappam pot)
Step 04
Deep fry in hot oil in medium flame until golden colour in all sides.
Step 05
Add sugar to curd and mix well.
Step 06
Grind mint leaves,green chilli,salt and ginger.
Step 07
Add little salt to chilli paste and mix well.
Step 08
Add the curd to the vadas and mix well. Add required salt and let it set for 1/2 hour.
Step 09
Add mint chutney and chilli paste while serving
