Dal fry is a simple and easy-to-make Indian side dish we can make with any varieties of dal/lentils like toor dal, masoor dal, mung dal, chana dal, etc. Lentils are very considered as a superfood rich in soluble fiber and help to reduce cholesterol. Lentils are also rich in magnesium and folate which reduces heart diseases. We can serve day fry with any main course like roti or rice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I made this dish with basic ingredients that are available all-time in our kitchen.

How to make dal fry | Parippu curry Recipe here
- Mung dal - 1/2 kg
- Chopped onion - 2
- Green chillies - 3-4
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 spn
- Chopped tomatoes - 2
- Turmeric powder -1/2 spn
- Chilli powder - 3/4 spn
- Coriander powder - 1/4 spn
- Coconut milk - Half of one coconut
Pressure cook mung dal with one glass of water. 1-2 whistle in low flame.
Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion, green chillies and curry leaves. Fry till golden color.
Add tomatoes and fry till 4-5 minutes high flame.
Add all the spices and fry for 1 minute in low flame.
Add cooked dal and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes in low flame. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
