Easy Dates Cake in Pressure Cooker


Delicious and spongy dates cake without using oven


Sponge cakes are so easy to make and requires no special ingredients. We can make sponge cakes with carrot,beetroot,dates etc…I have already posted some easy to make cake recipes like Easy Carrot Cake,Beetroot cake and Carrot cake with chocolate icing. All these three cakes are made in pressure cooker.
Dates cake is very healthy and for sweetness I have added honey. Only 3 tbsp. of sugar is required for this cake,because sweetness of dates is enough for this cake. You can also replace the whole quantity of sugar with honey. Hope you all will try this easy dates cake

How to make Easy Dates Cake

Ingredients


2 cup of All purpose flour(maida)
10 no of soft dates
1 spn. of coco powder
2 no of eggs
2 tbsp. of honey
3 tbsp. cup of sugar
¾ cup of oil
1 spn. of baking powder
1 pinch of salt

Method


Step 01

Grind dates along with oil,sugar,pinch of salt and eggs to smooth paste.

Step 03

Take all purpose flour,coco powder and baking powder in a bowl. Mix well with hands

Step 04

Sieve the flour mix twice.

Step 05

Add dates mixture and mix well.

Step 06

Grind the batter for 2-3 minutes.

Step 07

Grease cake tray with butter or ghee and pour the batter. Leave 1 inch free space.

Step 08

Take pressure cooker and place a steel bowl inside.

Step 09

Place the cake try carefully on the top of that bowl

Step 10

Cook for 1 minute in high flame (Do not put weight while baking cake). Reduce the flame and bake for 50-60 minutes. Insert a toothpick at the center of cake and if it is comes out clean, cake is ready otherwise again cook for 5 more minutes.

      Hi,Eggs we are adding to get more fluffiness. If you don’t want to add eggs, use 1/6 spn. of baking soda and 1 1/2 spn. of coco powder. Hope it will work.

    Is it 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder in the ingredient list…??

      Hi sumi…Yes it is. I have added coco powder to get more brown color to this dates cake and it is optional too.
