Easy rasam – 10 minute recipe
Easy rasam recipe without rasam powder and dal. Rasam is a very easy to make traditional side dish of South India. It is a tangy and spiced curry with the goodness of spices like coriander, cumin, pepper etc. Even though rasam requires lots of ingredients to make, this side dish is very good for digestion. Rasam is a must to have side dish of Tamil Nadu lunch menu. I have already tried Beetroot Rasam which is very healthy and highly nutritious.
Usually rasam is prepared with in boiled toor dal water and rasam powder. Here I would like to share the recipe of easy rasam recipe without dal mix. We can prepare this rasam within 10 minutes without any ready made rasam powder. Hope you all will like this easy rasam recipe. Please try it out and let me know how it turned out for you.
How to prepare easy rasam
Ingredients
4 tbsp. of tamarind pulp
1 small piece of ginger
3 cloves of garlic
1 spn. of cumin seeds
2 spn. of pepper
3 tnsp. of coriander seeds(do not use coriander powder)
2 cup of water
2 spn. of oil
1/2 spn. of mustard seeds
1/2 spn. of cumin seeds(to season)
4 no of red chillies
2 springs of curry leaves
2 tbsp. of coriander leaves(optional)
Method
Step 01
Crush coriander seeds along with cumin seeds,garlic,ginger and pepper.Keep aside.Step 02
Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.Add cumin seeds and red chillies.Saute for a while.Step 03
Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.Add crushed mix.Saute for 1-2 minute in low flame.Step 04
Add tamarind pulp,salt and water.Bring to boil for 2-3 minute.Step 05
Serve hot with rice.Note:
Corainder seeds are must for this rasam recipe.Try to serve hot.
