Eggfruit ice cream is a delicious and easy to make homemade ice-cream made with egg fruit. This nutritious fruits is known as muttappzham in Kerala. Egg fruit is a lesser known fruit of sapota family. The fruit got its name from the fact that it remotely resembles the size and shape of an egg. Epidermis or the edible part is also somewhat like the yolk of an egg, both in color and feel, very soft and easily ruptured..
Egg fruit is easily grown in Kerala and we have two or three eggfruit plants at home. I have already posted a delicious Eggfruit Shake which was is easy to make. This time I wanted to try something new and tried this ice cream. I have used corn flour and milk powder for making this ice cream. Hope you all will like this eggfruit ice cream. Please try it out and let me know how it turned out for you.

Eggfruit ice cream
1/4 liter of Milk
3 table spoon of sugar
1 1/2 table spoon of Corn flour
2 table spoon. of cream
1 spoon. of Milk powder(optional)
Add milk,cornflour,sugar and milk powder in a bowl.Mix well.
Boil the mixture for 2-3 minute in low flame.Stir continuously.
Allow to cool.Remove seeds of egg fruit.Put eggfruit and milk mixture in a blender and process to fine paste.
Transfer the paste to a freezer safe bowl.Freeze it for 5-6 hours.
Take the ice cream from refrigerator.Add cream and again blend for 2-3 minute.Repeat step 4.
