Ellu Kadum Payasam (Black sesame gheer)

Yummy gheer for the sweet lovers.


100 gm of Black Sesame seeds
400 g of Jaggery
1 no of Banana
3 tbsp. of coconut pieces(Thenga kothu)
1/4 spn. of cumin seeds
1/4 spn. of Dried ginger powder(Chukku)
1/2 spn. of Cardamom powder
1 spn. of ghee
Raisins and nuts tog garnish


Step 01

Make a thick jaggery solution and keep aside.

Step 02

Heat ghee in a pan.

Step 03

Roast cashew nuts and raisins and keep aside.

Step 04

Golden fry coconut pieces and cumin seeds in same ghee.

Step 05

Fry banana pieces in ghee.

Step 06

Take a heavy bottom vessel and fry sesame seeds in ghee for 5-7 min.

Step 07

Add jaggery solution and cook sesame seeds well(for 10 min).Stir often.

Step 08

Add banana pieces and dried ginger powder.cook for 2 min.Stir well.

Step 09

Add fried coconut pieces,cumin seeds,nuts and raisins.
