    Ellunda or black sesame balls are one of the most delicious and healthiest sweet snack for people of all age group. Ellunda is very famous in South India and it is the kids favorite snack too. We all know that sesame seeds are the powerhouse of calcium and many other minerals. Sesame seeds also help in bone and skin health. So it is better to include sesame seeds in diet. Here I have shared the traditional recipe of sesame balls. Just blend roasted sesame seeds, rice with coconut and jaggery, you will get a healthy snack. Hope you all will like this ellunda recipe.     How to make Ellunda


    2 cup of sesame seeds
    1/2 cup of boiled rice(puzhukkallari)
    3/4 cup of powdered jaggery
    1 cup of grated coconut


    Step 01

    Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium flame. Stir continuously, and roast until they start to burst.Allow to cool.

    Step 02

    Same way roast the boiled rice on medium fire in a pan until it pops and changes to golden brown color.(The roasted rice should be very crunchy).Allow to cool and powder using a dry mixer grinder.

    Step 03

    Crush sesame seeds using mixer grinder.

    Step 04

    Take a large bowl.Add rice powder,grated coconut,powdered jaggery. Mix well.

    Step 05

    Now knead this mixture with the crushed sesame seeds.

    Step 06

    Pick a handful of mixture and make small even sized balls
