Easy to make one pot bitter gourd fry


Pavakka Mezhukkupuratti is a common side dish of South India especially Kerala. Pavakka / Bitter gourd is a very healthy vegetable which helps to reduce blood sugar level. Because of the taste, bitter gourd is not liked by all. But it is too good for diabetic patients and weight watchers. I have already tried 2 healthy bitter gourd recipes like easy bitter gourd fry and pavakka pachadi. All the mezhukkupuratti dishes are (sauté with oil) very easy to make and all we need is to mix all the ingredients together and slow cook. Hope you all will like this pavakka mezhukkupuratti recipe. Ingredients


2 no of medium bitter gourd
1 no of onion
7-9 no of Kanthari Mulaku/Bird’s Eye Chili
salt as required
1 spn. of Oil

Bitter gourd fry Preparation Steps


Step 01

Finely slice onion and bitter gourd.

Step 02

Heat oil in a pan

Step 03

Add all the ingredients.Mix well and cover the pan.Do not add water.

Step 04

Cook for 5-7 minutes in low flame. Stir often other wise fry will stick in the bottom of pan.

Step 05

Serve hot with rice.

Note : Taste of this fry depends on how much finely you are slicing the bitter gourd.
