Healthy Broken Wheat Kheer without milk and sugar
Healthy and delicious kheer made with broken wheat. It is an easy to make recipe with few ingredients. This kheer is liked by toddlers to old age people. Even diabetic patients can have this kheer (little 🙂 ). There is no sugar and milk is added in this recipe. The goodness of broken wheat and jaggery(full of iron) makes this dish a super food. I have also added some ghee roasted plantain and raisins to make this kheer more yummy. I made this for my little ones. It is their all time favorite dish .

250g of Broken wheat
150g of Jaggery
1/4spn. of Cardamom powder
1 pinch of Salt
1 cup of Water
1 no of plantain
1 spn. of ghee
10 no of raisins
Pressure cook broken wheat along with 1 cup of water. Do not add too much of water.(3-4 whistle in medium flame)
Mean time finely slice plantain in round shape. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the plantain till golden color. You can also roast the raisins in same ghee. I didn’t roast raisins in ghee, directly added.
Once the broken wheat is cooked, add powdered jaggery or thick jaggery soultion( I used palm jaggery(chakkara). Cook in low flame for 3-4 minutes. Stir often. The kheer should be very thick.
Add cardamom powder and pinch of salt. Stir well.
Finally add roasted plantain and raisins. Cook for 1 minute. Turn off the flame. Serve as hot or cold.
