Traditional kerala style idiyappam recipe
Idiyappam is a very famous traditional breakfast item of Kerala. It is made with rice flour and we need a murukku press for making this. Idiyappam goes well with non vegetarian dishes like Beef stew,Nadan beef curry,Kerala style mutton curry and vegetarian recipes like Vegetable stew,Cherupayar curry | green gram curry etc…

Ingredients
1 no of Rice Flour
1 1/2 cup of Water
1 spn. of Water
Salt as required
Method
Step 01
Boil water in a vessel.Add salt.
Step 02
Add boiled water in to rice flour.Mix well with a ladle.
Step 03
Add oil and knead to a soft dough.Consistency should be correct.
Step 04
Lightly grease the idiyappam press mold and put in one portion of the dough..
Step 05
Add this to curry and mix well.
Step 06
Press out the dough to form small circular mounds onto each of the idiyppam stands.
Step 07
Steam for about 10 minutes in medium flame.
Step 08
Idli stand is a good substitute for the idyiappam stand.
