Spicy South Indian style mushroom biryani
Mushroom biryani is a flavorful main course of Indian cuisine. It is a very healthy and nutritious recipe made with mushroom, rice and vegetables. As well all know mushroom has lots of health benefits. It is low in calorie, fat free and cholesterol free vegetable. We can make lot many dishes with mushroom.

How to make Mushroom Biriyani
Ingredients
1/2 kg of biryani rice
1/2 kg of mushroom
2 medium sized potatoes
2 no large onion
2 no of green chilli
2 tbsp. of ginger garlic paste
3 medium sized tomatoes
1 spn. of Chilli powder
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/2 spn. of coriander powder
1/2 spn. of garam masala
1/6 spn. of pepper powder
Whole spices
1 spn. of fennel seeds
3 piece of bay leaves
2 no of cinnamon sticks
4 no of cloves
1 no of star anise
4 no of cardamom
1 tbsp. of lemon juice
3 tbsp. of chopped coriander leaves
3 tbsp. of chopped mint leaves
Method
Step 01
Heat oil in a pan. Add all the ingredients mentioned under whole spices. Fry till they become fragrant.
Step 02
Add ginger garlic paste and fry well till the raw smell goes off.
Step 03
Add finely sliced onion and green chilly. Fry for 2-3 minute.
Step 04
Add chopped tomatoes and fry till tomatoes become mushy.
Step 05
Add all the spices. Fry for 1-2 minute in low flame.
Step 06
Add 1/2 of coriander and mint leaves. Fry well in low flame.
Step 07
Add chopped mushroom and potatoes. Mix well and cover the lid.Cook for 1-2 minute in
Step 08
Add washed rice and mix well.
Step 09
Now add lemon juice and salt.
Step 10
Add water.(For 1 cup of rice,use 1 3/4 cup of water)
Step 11
Add remaining half of the mint-coriander leaves.
Step 12
Cover lid and pressure cook.(low flame till 1-2 whistle)
Step 13
Garnish with some coriander leaves and mint leaves.
