Ingredients
1 medium sized onion
1 -2 no of garlic cloves(optional)
1 small piece of tamarind
2 spn. of coconut oil.
1 spn. of chilli powder
Salt as required
Onion chutney preparation steps
Step 01
Grind onion, garlic and tamarind to a smooth fine paste.Step 02
Heat coconut oil in a pan.Add chilli powder(flame should be low or you can switch off the flame.Otherwise the chilli powder may burn)Step 03
Add onion paste. Add salt and mix well.Step 04
Cook the chutney for 4-5 minute in low flame.Step 05
When oil starts coming out of the chutney, switch off the flame(It will take around 10 minutes to make this chutney).Notes
1. You can also use any oil for making this chutney but nothing beats coconut oil.
2. Take care of the heat of oil when you add chilli powder. If you are making this chutney first time, better switch off the flame when it is hot and add chilli powder. Again switch on and add onion tomato paste(First time I did like this)
