oothappam is a thick pancake, with toppings cooked right into the batter. Uttapam is sometimes characterized as an Indian pizza.


2 cup of Idli/Dosa Batter
3 tbsp. of Chopped onion
2 tbsp. of Chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp. of Chopped green chillies
1 tbsp. of Chopped coriander leaves
Salt as required


Step 01

Mix all the chopped vegetables with little salt.Keep aside

Step 02

Heat a non stick pan.

Step 03

Mix the batter and add little water and make it slightly thinner than the idli batter.

Step 04

Pour one big ladle of batter in the tawa and slightly spread it.It should be thicker than the dosa.

Step 05

Sprinkle 1 TS of vegetable mix over dosa.Cook for 1 minute. Pour a teaspoon of oil around the corners(optional).

Step 06

Carefully flip over and cook other side for 1 minute.

Step 07

Serve hot with chutnies,,sambar etc..
