Papaya poriyal

healthy poriyal made with papaya


  • 1/2 piece of one Papaya
  • 5 no of Shallots
  • 2 tbsp. of Grated coconut
  • 4 no of green chilli
  • 1/2 spn. of Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 spn. of Mustard seeds
  • 1 spn. of Oil
  • Salt to taste


Step 01

Grate pappaya(Or cut in to small pieces).

Step 02

Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 03

Add chopped onion,green chillies and curry leaves.Fry till onion get cooked.

Step 04

Add grated coconut.stir well.

Step 05

Add turmeric powder saute for few seconds and add pappaya.

Step 06

Close the lid of pan and cook for 10 min.(Just sprinkle 1 tbsp of water if needed)

    simple nd nice..

    hv cukd curries wth papaya nd hd lots of ripe papaya……
    hv not made papaya “poriyal” tl date…nice one…yeah..
