Pazham pulissery is a sweet and tangy dish prepared for festivals like Onam, Vishu etc… We used to prepare pulissery with mango, grape, banana etc. Usually, pulissery will have a sweet tangy taste because of the ripe fruits. If you want more sweetness in pulissery, you can add sugar or jaggery. I have already posted recipes like Mambazha Pulissery(Ripe mango curry) which is also a very tasty and traditional dish of Kerala. Hope you all will like these recipes. How to make Pazham Pulissery

Ingredients

2 no of ripe plantain
¾ of one coconut
1 cup of tangy curd
½ spn. of cumin seeds
4 no of green chillies
¼ spn. of turmeric powder
1/6 spn. of fenugreek powder(must)
¼ spn. of chilly powder
Salt to taste
2 spn. of oil
½ spn. of mustard seeds
4 no of red chillies
3 springs of curry leaves

Method

Step 01


Peel off banana and cut into small pieces.

Step 02


Cook banana along with turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt and green chillies.

Step 03


Grind grated coconut with cumin seeds to a smooth fine paste.

Step 04


When banana is cooked, add ground coconut mix, fenugreek powder and stir well.

Step 05


Mash the bananas with a ladle. Cook for 1-2 minute.

Step 06


Add curd and mix well. Check salt and turn off the flame.DO not allow the curry to boil after adding curd.

Step 07


Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and red chillies and fry for 1 minute.

Step 08


Add this seasoning to curry and mix well. Cover the lid and serve after 10 minutes.
