Prawns roast is a juicy and delicious side dish which can be served with Rice, ParathaPathiri etc. Kerala is famous for prawns dishes, especially in coastal areas. Prawns roast and Ghee Rice are one of the famous combos of we Malayalees. Recipes with prawns are super tasty and it is the favourite seafood of our family. My kids love Prawns Fry which is very easy to make and perfect side dish for rice.

This prawns roast is a semi gravy type with the goodness of Kerala spices. I served this prawns roast with chapati and it was so yummy with the onion tomato masala. Add coriander leaves after preparing the rast which gives a unique taste to the roast. Do not over the prawns as it become rubbery texture if cooked for a long time. But make sure it is cooked properly becuase undercooked prawns are not safe to eat.

Among these recipes  Prawns head fry .is a variety dish prepared using prawns head. I got this recipe from aunty long back and I was unsure about the taste of this fry but after I tried this it came out very well. Prawns heads are rich in calcium but it is not recommended to consume it on daily basis.

How to make Prawns roast?

Ingredients

1/2 kg of Prawns
1 1/2 no of chopped onion
2 no of chopped tomato
4 no of chopped green chillies
1 tbsp. of ginger garlic paste
A handful of chopped coriander leaves
2 springs of curry leaves
1 tbsp. of lemon juice
1 spn. of chilli powder
1 spn. of turmeric powder
1/2 spn. of garam Masala
2 spn. of oil
Salt as required

Method

Step 01


Marinate prawns with 1/2 S of turmeric powder,1/2 S of ginger garlic paste,1/2 of chilli powder and salt. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.

Step 02


Heat oil in a pan,shallow fry the prawns.

Step 03


Remove the prawns from the pan, add onions, green chilli and curry leaves into same oil.saute well

Step 04


When onion gets fried, add ginger garlic paste. stir well.

Step 05


Add tomatoes. When tomatoes get cooked add all the spices.

Step 06


Stir continuously in a low flame for 1 minute.

Step 07


Add prawns and saute well.

Step 08


Close the lid of pan and cook for 5 min.

Step 09


Garnish with coriander leaves.
