Quick and easy pressure cooker chicken biriyani
pressure cooker chicken biriyani is a very easy to make one pot biriyani with few ingredients but of course there is no compromise in taste 🙂 . Biriyani is the traditional main course of indian cuisine. It is very famous in all over India. There are so many varieties of biriyanies like hyderabadi biryani,ambur biriyani,sindhi biriyani,malabar biryani etc… This chicken biriyani is prepared in pressure cooker. The perfect combination for this biriyani is with vegetable raita Hope you all will enjoy this pressure cooker chicken biriyani recipe.

How to make pressure cooker chicken biriyani
Ingredients
1/2 kg of Rice(Basmati,Jeerakashala,sona masoori etc…)
1/2 kg of Chicken
1/2 kg of Onion
1/2 kg of Tomato
3 tbsp. of Ginger garlic paste
3 tbsp. of Chilli powder
2 tbsp. of Coriander powder
1 spn. of Turmeric powder
2 spn. of Garam Masala
1/4 ltr of Curd
1/2 of Lemon
A handful of Coriander leaves
A handful of Mint leaves
For Marinade
2 tbsp. of curd
1 tbsp. of ginger garlic green chilli paste
1 spn. of chilli powder
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/2 spn. of garam masala
1/2 spn. of coriander powder
Salt as required
Special Biryani Masala
5 no of cardamom
3 no of cloves
1 spn. of fennel seeds
2 no of cinnamon stick
1 no of star anise
Method
Step 01
Wash and soak rice in water for 15 minutes and drain it.
Step 02
Dry roast all the ingredients given under “Special Biryani Masala” and grind well. Keep aside.
Step 03
Marinate chicken pieces with the ingredients given under “For marinade” up to minimum 15 minutes.
Step 04
Heat oil/ghee in Pressure cooker
Step 05
Add ginger garlic green chilly paste. Saute till the raw smell goes off.
Step 06
Add finely sliced onion and fennel seeds. Saute for 5 minutes.
Step 07
Add Chopped tomatoes. Fry well till tomatoes become mushy.
Step 08
Add all the spices and mix well. Saute for 1-2 minute.
Step 09
Add chicken pieces,coriander leaves,mint leaves and lemon juice. Mix well.
Step 10
Add curd and salt. Slow cook for 1-2 minute.
Step 11
Add drained rice and biryani masala(Check salt and add if needed). Mix well.
Step 12
Add water(for 1 cup of rice i took 1 1/2 cup of water).
Step 13
Pressure cook up to 3 whistle. Remove lid when the pressure gone. Serve hot.
