Quick and easy pressure cooker mutton biriyani


Pressure cooker mutton biriyani recipe – very easy to make one pot biriyani with few ingredients. But of course I can assure that there is no compromise in taste. Biriyani is the traditional main course of Indian cuisine and famous all over India. There are so many varieties of biriyanis like Hyderabadi biryani, ambur biriyani, sindhi biriyani, malabar biryani etc…

Usually the preparation of biriyani is a time consuming process and it requires lots of ingredients. Here I would like to share an easy mutton biriyani. This mutton biriyani is prepared in pressure cooker. The perfect combination for this biriyani is with vegetable raita Hope you all will enjoy this pressure cooker mutton biriyani recipe. How to make pressure cooker mutton biriyani

Ingredients

1/2 kg of Rice(Basmati,Jeerakashala,sona masoori etc…)
1/2 kg of Mutton washed and drained
1/2 kg of Onion
1/2 kg of Tomato
2 tbsp. of Ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp. of Chilli powder
2 tbsp. of Coriander powder
1 spn. of Turmeric powder
2 spn. of Garam Masala
1/4 ltr of Curd
1/2 of Lemon
A handful of Coriander leaves
A handful of Mint leaves
2 tbsp of ghee/oil

For Marinade
2 tbsp. of curd
1 tbsp. of ginger garlic paste
1 spn. of chilli powder
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/2 spn. of garam masala
1/2 spn. of coriander powder
Salt as required

Special Biryani Masala

5 no of cardamom
3 no of cloves
1 spn. of fennel seeds
2 no of cinnamon stick
1 no of star anise

Method


Step 01


Dry roast all the ingredients given under “Special Biryani Masala” and grind well.Keep aside.

Step 02


Marinate mutton pieces with the ingredients given under “For marinade”(up to minimum 15 minutes).

Step 03


Heat oil/ghee in Pressure cooker

Step 04


Add ginger garlic paste.Saute till the raw smell goes off.

Step 05


Add finely sliced onion.Saute for 5 minutes.

Step 06


Add Chopped tomatoes.Fry well till tomatoes become mushy.

Step 07


Add all the spices and mix well.Saute for 1-2 minute.

Step 08


Add mutton pieces,coriander leaves,mint leaves and lemon juice.Mix well.

Step 09


Add curd and salt.Slow cook for 1-2 minute.

Step 10


Add 1 cup of water and cover the lid.Pressure cook till mutton is almost done. up to 3 whistle in low flame.

Step 11


Turn off heat and open the lid.The curry will be in the form of a thick gravy.If there is excess water,open lid and cook for 1-2 minute.

Step 12


Add drained rice and biryani masala(Check salt and add if needed).Mix well.

Step 13


Add 3 cup of water and again mix well.(for 1 cup of rice i took 1 1/2 cup of water).

Step 14


Turn on heat and pressure cook up to 2 whistle.Remove lid when the pressure gone.
