Protein laddu recipe – Protein laddus are highly nutritious snacks that boost the energy level. This is a super healthy laddu good for growing kids. Roasted rice powder is the main ingredient of this laddu. I have also added peanuts and sesame seeds for increasing the nutrition level of this laddu. Peanuts contain 30 essential nutrients which have more protein than any nuts. Peanuts are also a good source of good fats and fiber. Sesame seeds (Ellu) are rich in iron, calcium, antioxidants etc. Rice helps to improve the health of bones and teeth.

I have used matta rice for making this laddu which is rich n bran. You cal also use any rice varieties. Matta rice needs to dry roast using a Kadai and powder. My mom used to pack this rice powder when we return home after the holidays. So it is easy for me to make laddus whenever I needed it. This roasted rice powder will stay for more than 6 months. She used to roast it in a mud pot (manchatti). I have also added coconut for extra taste and jaggery for sweetness. You can powder the jaggery and directly use it if it is organic. Otherwise, some jaggery may contain mud. In that case, you need to make a thick jaggery solution and mix it with the powders.

Peanuts are roasted but peels are not removed because the skin is rich in antioxidants. Sesame seeds are not roasted you can directly use them. I have already posted many healthy laddu recipes like Ragi peanut laddu | how to make ragi peanut laddu, Ragi Ladoo | Healthy ragi ladoo with popped ragi and jaggery, Wheat flour laddu, Rava ladoo | Rava ladoo with jaggery, Pottukadala laddu | Maa laddu, etc.
