Traditional kerala side dish usually prepared for festivals
Ingredients
100g of Ginger
10 no of Shallots
20 no of Garlic cloves
3 lemon sized Tamarind
2 tbsp. of Chilli powder
1/2 spn. of Turmeric powder.
1 small piece of jaggery
2 spn. of Oil
1 spn. of Mustard seeds
3 no of Red chilli
3 springs of Curry leaves
Salt as required
Method
Step 01
Heat oil in a pan
Step 02
Finely chop ginger and golden fry.Remove from oil.
Step 02
Splutter mustard seeds.
Step 02
Add chopped small onion,garlic,chopped green chilli and curry leaves.Fry well.
Step 02
Add fried ginger and saute well.
Step 02
Add turmeric powder,chilli powder,salt and a pinch of fenugreek powder.Saute for 1 min.
Step 02
Add tamarind pulp and water.Boil.
Step 02
Add jaggery and mix well.
Step 02
Dry roast rice,mung dal,fenugreek seeds and powder it.Add 1 S of this powder to puliinchi.Mix well and serve after 10 min.
