Traditional breakfast dish of kerala
Puttu is the very popular traditional dish of kerala. It is very simple and easy to make breakfast dish. To make puttu, we need roasted rice flour,salt and grated coconut. We can also use grated carrot, beetroot, spinach stir fry instead of grated coconut to make puttu more healthy. I have already tried 2 different varieties of puttu recipes like Puttu upma (with left over puttu) and wheat puttu. Hope you all will like this puttu recipes.
How to make Puttu?
Ingredients
2 cup of Rice flour
1/4 cup of Grated coconut
1/4 spn. of cumin seeds
Salt as required
1/2 cup of Water
Method
Step 01
Add salt and cumin seeds in to rice flour and mix well.
Step 02
Add water little by little to the flour and mix it.
Step 03
You should be careful while mixing water because it should not change into dough.It should be a wet powdered form.
Step 04
Add 1 S grated coconut in to puttu maker,then add a handful of flour mix.again add grated coconut then rice flour.
Step 05
Close the lid and steam for 5 minutes in medium flame.
