Healthy and delicious dumplings with Ragi| Finger Millet
Kozhukkatta is the famous traditional snack of South India. In Kerala we used to prepare kozhukkatta with rice flour,grated coconut and jaggery. We can also add beaten rice along with grated coconut and jaggery while filling. Here I made kozhukkatta with ragi. Ragi is a wonderful grain which is rich in calcium and many other nutrients. How to make Ragi Kozhukatta?
Ingredients
1 cup of ragi|Finger Millet
1 cup of grated coconut
1/2 cup of jaggery powder
1 pinch of salt
Method
Step 01
Take Ragi flour in a bowl and add water(1/4 cup of water with a pinch of salt) little by little to make a tight dough(Hot water is not needed).
Step 02
Take grated coconut and jaggery powder in a bowl. Mix well with hands.
Step 03
Make a ball from the dough and flatten into circle on your palm. Place the filling in the center.
Step 06
Carefully seal the edges and make a smooth ball.
Step 07
Steam the dumplings in a steamer for around ten minutes.
Step 08
Allow to cool and serve with tea.
