Traditional south indian snack made with besan and rice flour
Ribbon murukku is a very easy to make tasty murukku made with rice flour and besan. Ribbon murukku is a very common traditional snack of south india. We used to prepare this for special occasions like diwali. I have already posted 20+ diwali sweets recipes. Hope you all will like this recipes. Nutritional Info of Gram flour: This nutrient rich flour is a food source of many vitamins and minerals as well as dietary fiber. It is high in carbohydrates and protein, contains some fat and is gluten free.
Ingredients
1 cup of roasted rice flour
1 cup of gram flour(besan)
1/2 spn of asafoetida
2 spn. of cumin seeds
1 spn. of ajwain
2 tbsp. of butter
oil for fry
Salt as required
Method
Step 01
Take rice flour,besan flour,salt,cumin, hing and butter and mix well.
Step 02
Add warm water to this and knead to soft, not sticky one like chapathi dough.
Step 03
Take a murukku press, use the minus shaped template and drop some dough to it.
Step 04
Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.
Step 05
When the oil is medium hot take the murukku softly by lifting the side of parchment paper and drop to hot oil.
Step 06
Golden fry murukku till golden color.
Step 07
Drain and store in airtight container.
