Yummy rice kheer enriched with milk and rose petals

You may wonder how can we make kheer with rose flower?In kerala we will not prepare any dishes with rose flower.After marriage when I came to Bangalore,my hubby bought me gulkand one day(yummy dessert with rose petals in sugar syrup). So I thought of making something with rose flowers. There are lot of rose in our home(my MIL’s garden 🙂 ). So for next vacation I went there and prepared this kheer. Everybody liked it. That was surprising too. Dear friends,please try it out. There is no taste difference while we adding rose petals. Try to use rose from your garden.Roses available in markets may contain pesticides.

How to make Rose Kheer?


  • 1/4 cup of basmati rice/Pearl sago
  • 2 cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp. of Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. of condensed milk
  • 1 cup of Rose petals
  • 1 spn. of cardamom powder


Step 01

Cook rice with 1 cup of water(low flame around 5-7 minutes).

Step 02

Add milk and cook again in medium flame.Stir often

Step 03

Add sugar and cardamom powder.Mix well,

Step 04

Reduce flame to low.Add condensed milk and rose petals.Cook for 1 minute.Mix well.

Step 05

Serve chilled or hot.Taste more yummy when chilled.
