Yummy rice kheer enriched with milk and rose petals
Rose kheer with rose petals, rice and milk. You may wonder how can we make kheer with rose flower? In Kerala we will not prepare any dishes with rose flower. After marriage when I came to Bangalore, my hubby bought me gulkand one day (yummy dessert with rose petals in sugar syrup). So I thought of making something with rose flowers when I go to Kerala. There are lot of rose in my MIL’s garden. So for next vacation when, I went there I prepared this kheer. Everybody liked it and it was surprising too. There is no taste difference while we adding rose petals. Try to use rose from your garden. Roses available in markets may contain pesticides. Hope you all will like this delicious kheer recipe. How to make Rose Kheer?
- 1/4 cup of basmati rice/Pearl sago
- 2 cup of milk
- 2 tbsp. of Sugar
- 2 tbsp. of condensed milk
- 1 cup of Rose petals
- 1 spn. of cardamom powder
Cook rice with 1 cup of water(low flame around 5-7 minutes).
Add milk and cook again in medium flame.Stir often
Add sugar and cardamom powder.Mix well,
Reduce flame to low.Add condensed milk and rose petals.Cook for 1 minute.Mix well.
Serve chilled or hot.Taste more yummy when chilled.
