Easy to make healthy stir fry

Sprouted green gram stir fry is a highly nutritious stir fry which can be served with rice, chapathi or as a tea time snack. Sprouts are really healthy and rich in protein. Sprouting grams is the one which I am seeing from my childhood. My mom is an expert in making sprouts. I love her way of making sprouts using cotton cloth. Now I found an easy way to sprout the beans. Here is my article regarding Homemade Sprouter. So mow I also started making sprouts at least twice in a week. Green gram sprout is my favorite one. I would like to make salad, soup, fry, kruma etc… with this sprout.
This green gram sprout fry is very easy to make and requires very few ingredients. Just season the cooked sprouts with shallots, garlic and red chillies in coconut oil. Green gram is very good for growing kids. This fiber rich gram also helps to avoid constipation. Hope you will like this sprouted green gram fry. How to make sprouted green gram fry?


250 g of Green gram sprouts(or any sprouts like horse gram, green peas etc…)
4-5 no of shallots or 1 no of onion
6-7 no of garlic cloves
1/2 spn. of chilli powder
A handful of curry leaves
1/4 spn. of mustard seeds
1 spn. of oil
Salt as required

Green gram sprout fry Preparation Steps

Step 01

Pressure cook green gram sprouts with 1/2 cup of water and salt. After the sprout get cooked, if there is excess water open the lid and cook.

Step 02

Crush shallots and garlic using grinder.

Step 03

Heat oil in a pan

Step 04

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 05

Add crushed shallots and garlic mix, curry leaves. Fry for 1-2 minutes till the raw smell goes off.

Step 06

Add chilli powder and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 07

Add cooked green gram sprouts and mix well. Fry for 1 minute.

Step 08

Serve hot.
