Healthy sweet pongal made with brown rice and jaggery
Pongal is a traditional sweet dish prepared for Tamil Harvest Festival called Pongal. There are lot many varieties in pongal like kara pongal, sakkara pongal etc. This is a very eay to make sweet dish with rice. Here I prepared sweet pongal with borwn rice and jaggery. I have already posted Paal pongal/ Milk Pongal recipe. I would like to share this easy and healthy brown rice pongal recipe with you.
How to Make chakkara Pongal
Ingredients
200g of Brown Rice(Navara Rice)
100g of Jaggery
1spn. of Cardamom powder
1 1/2 spn. of Ghee
1 cup of Water
Brown rice Pongal Preparation Method
Step 01
Pressure cook brown rice with 1 cup of water(3 whistle in medium flame).
Step 02
When rice get cooked add jaggery,cardamom powder and mash well. Boil for 2 more minute.
Step 03
Add ghee in a pan and roast cashew nuts and raisins. Pour this in to pongal along with ghee.
Step 04
Switch off the flame.serve hot or chilled.
