Tomato Chutney
Tomato chutney is a popular south Indian side dish.
Tomato chutney is very easy to prepare and requires only few ingredients.This is my Mom’s one of the best recipe. Dosa and this chutney will be enough for a good breakfast.Even this chutney goes well with rice.I would like to have this chutney with rice,omelet and papad. Super combination.Dear friends,do try out this recipe.
This Tomato chutney goes well with Dosa,Idli,Appam etc…
Ingredients
- 3 medium sized Tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp. of Chilli power
- 1/4 tsp. of Mustard seeds
- Salt as per Taste
- 2 springs of Curry leaves
Method
Step 01
Chop tomato in to small peaces.Step 02
Heat oil in a pan.Step 03
Splutter mustard seeds.Add curry leaves and green chillies(optional).Step 04
Reduce the flame,add chilli powder stir well for 2 second.Do not allow the chilli powder to get dark color.Step 05
Soon add tomatoes and salt.stir well,close lid of pan and cook for 5-10 min in low flame.Do not add water.Just mash it while cooking.Notes
1. Take care of the heat of oil when you add chilli powder.If you are making this chutney first time,better switch off the flame when it is hot and add chilli powder.Again switch on and add onion tomato paste(First time I did like this)
