Easy tomato rasam – 10 minute recipe
Rasam is an appetizer dish prepared mostly in south India.In kerala we used to prepare rasam for festivals like onam,vishu,sadya etc..
Rice,sambar and rasam is always a good combination.This tomato rasam is so easy to make and requires only few ingredients.We can prepare this rasam within 10 minutes without using any ready made rasam powder.
How to prepare Tomato Rasam
2 no of tomato
4 tbsp. of tamarind pulp
1 small piece of ginger
3 cloves of garlic
1 spn. of cumin seeds
2 spn. of pepper
3 tnsp. of coriander seeds(do not use coriander powder)
2 cup of water
2 spn. of oil
1/2 spn. of mustard seeds
1/2 spn. of cumin seeds(to season)
4 no of red chillies
2 springs of curry leaves
2 tbsp. of coriander leaves
salt as required
Step 01Crush coriander seeds along with cumin seeds,garlic,ginger and pepper.Keep aside.
Step 02Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.Add cumin seeds and red chillies.Saute for a while.
Step 03Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.Add crushed mix.Saute for 1-2 minute in low flame.
Step 04Add chopped tomatoes and fry till tomatoes become half mushy.
Step 05Add tamarind pulp,salt and water.Bring to boil for 2-3 minute.
Step 06Serve hot with rice.
Coriander seeds are must for this rasam recipe.Try to serve hot.
