Nutritional vazhappindi muthira thoran
Ingredients
4 cup of banana stem/Vazhappindi
2 cups of sprouted falx seed/muthira
15 no of shallots
10 no of garlic
1/2 spn. of chilli powder/crushed red chilli
1 spn. of mustard seeds
1 spn. of oil
2 springs of curry leaves
Salt as required
Method
Step 01
Soak flax seeds 5-6 hrs and next day drain water and transfer to a clean muslin cloth.
Step 02
Bring the corners of the muslin cloth to the center, tie a knot and keep aside for atleast 8 hrs.
Step 03
After 8 hrs you can see the sprouts coming.Cook in preassure cooker(2-3 whistle in medium flame).
Step 04
clean and finely chop banana stem and again cook along with falx seeds.
Step 05
Add salt and mix well.If there is excess water,open lid and cook in high flame.
Step 06
Crush shallots along with garlic.
Step 07
Heat oil in a pan.
Step 08
Splutter mustard seeds.
Step 09
Add crushed shallots garlic mix and curry leaves.Fry well.
Step 10
Add crushed red chillies or chilli powder and saute for a while.
Step 11
Add cooked banana stem/flax seed mix.Stir well.Cover the lid and cook for 1-2 minutes.
