    Vazhappoo is a highly nutritious part of banana with lots of medicinal values. We can make lots of recipes with banan flower. People of Kerala and Tamilnadu often vazhappoo for making stir fry, chutney, fry etc. I have uploaded lots of healthy and tasty vazhappoo recipes such as Banana blossom fry, Vazhaipoo Thoran, Vazhaipoo chutney etc.. This time I am making pakkavada with vazhappoo which is very crunchy and spicy.You can have this vazhappoo bajji with black tea or even with rice. In Tamilnadu, I have seen people having parippuvada and bajji items with as a side dish with rice. Hope you all will try this crunchy vazhappoo pakkavada and let me know how it turned out for you.

    How to make vazhappoo pakkavada

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup chopped banana flower
    • 1 cup of besan flour/kadalamavu
    • 1/4 cup of water
    • 1 spn chopped ginger
    • 1 spn chopped onion
    • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 strings of curry leaves
    • 3 no of chopped green chillies
    • 1/2 spn turmeric powder
    • 3/4 spn chilli powder
    • Salt as required
    • Oil for deep fry

    Method

    Step 1

    Take chopped banana flower/vazhappo in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients except water and oil. Mix well.

    Step 2

    Add water little by little and make a thick dough with pakkavada consistency

    Step 3

    Heat oil in a pan. Take amla sized pieces from the mix and deep fry till golden brown color.

    Step 4

    Serve hot with tomato sauce.
