Crispy and spicy elephant yam fry

Crispy and spicy yam fry recipe. It is an easy to make side dish with very few ingredients. Yam is a very healthy root vegetable which is very good for heart. It is also known as elephant yam,chena or senai kizhangu I have already posted traditional side dish made with yam like Yam curry (chena ozhichukoottan),koottucurry and chena moru curry/yam curd curry. We can make different varieties of dishes using yam like curry,stir fry,kheer etc… Hope you all like this crunchy yam chips recipe


How to make crispy gobi fry


100g of yam
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
3/4 of chilli powder
1 spn. of ginger garlic paste
Salt as required
Oil for deep fry


Step 01

Wash and finely slice yam in to 1 inch pieces.

Step 01

Take a bowl and mix all ingredients except oil. Add 1 spn.of water to make a thick paste.

Step 03

Add yam and marinate with this paste. Keep aside for 15 minutes.

Step 04

Heat oil in a kadai. Deep fry the pieces till crispy and golden brown. Add few curry leaves while frying to get nice aroma.

Step 05

Serve hot.
