Constipation in kids mainly happens due to the lack of fibers. It is not a serious health issue. Before rushing to a doctor with your kids, try some natural home remedies.

  1. Dry Grapes
    Soak 5-6 no of dry grapes(raisins) in water overnight. Squeeze out the juice and give. This is the best remedy for constipation in kids.
  2. Dates
    Dates are the healthiest fruit in the world which contains all the required nutrients needed for our body. Dates also help in constipation problems. You can check the Health Benefits of Dates article to get more information. Soak 2-3 dates in water overnight and in the morning just mash it and drain. Give this juice to kids. It has lots of health benefits. For adults no need to drain the dates mix. Just drink as such.
  3. Oregano Leaves.
    Oregano leaf is a herb used for preventing constipation and other bowel disorders. Boil 1 glass of water and put 5-6 no of Oregano leaves in it for 1 minute. Take the leaves from water and squeeze gently with hand to take the juice. Mix a pinch of salt with the juice and serve. This is a traditional medicine we used to give for infants in South India.
  4. Papaya
    Papaya is rich in vitamin C and is very helpful for digestion. It also cures constipation problems. Mash papaya and give.
  5. Water
    Lack of water in the body is also the main reason for constipation. Give more water to kids apart from juice and all.
  6. Orange
    Orange is rich in fiber and it helps to soften the stool. Instead of giving orange juice to the infants, try to give as such or you can gently squeeze orange with your hand and give.
  7. Brown Rice.
    Instead of using white rice and bread, try to use brown cereals. The presence of bran in brown rice reduces the risk of constipation
